Crooked Cue- Etobicoke Description

It all began in 1910, when Sam Pappas emigrated from Greece to Belleville, Ontario. He opened up a billiards room and built the business on quality pool tables, great food and service. In 1954 the business moved to Etobicoke where his son, Bill Pappas owned and operated Kingsway Billiards very successfully for 40 years. In 1992, the third generation of the Pappas family, Sam and his wife Tracey, continued the tradition by opening the first Crooked Cue. The concept was so successful it was featured on "Canada's Top Pool Halls" on the "CBC" and "TSN". In 1997 the family tradition continued to grow as Bill's other children, Matina and John, along with their spouses Scott and Voula, opened the second location of the Crooked Cue in the charming historic "Vogue Theatre" building in Port Credit. Since its inception this location has been chosen "Best Pool Hall" nine years running by the readers of the Mississauga News. The Pappas family has been proud to serve our customers for over 85 years

The Origin of "The Crooked Cue"

In 1910 a gentleman by the name of Sam Pappas arrived in Belleville , Ontario far from

his homeland of Tripoli, Greece. He opened a pool room and determined the career path

of his family for generations to follow. In 1954, Sam Pappas moved to Toronto and

purchased this very building where his son, William Pappas owned and operated

"Kingsway Billiards" with great success for over forty years.

Around 1990, the billiards business was under-going a major transition. An up-scale

image mixing billiards with great food and atmosphere became the norm. The Crooked

Cue set the benchmark for this concept and was the first pool room in the City of

Toronto to be completely licensed throughout the premises.

The Crooked Cue has earned its reputation based on quality pool tables, great food and

exceptional service. We have created an atmoshere that is second to none. The

Crooked Cue has been a "Reader’s Choice" among Toronto Sun and Etobicoke Guardian

readers for years. Most importantly, The Crooked Cue has become a tradition in the

Kingsway neighbourhood and much of Etobicoke. We pride ourselves in providing our
